Bill Curry

Curry was a visionary who transformed American design during the white-hot creativity of the Space Age. After cutting his teeth in advertising, he founded Design Line Inc. with his wife Jackie in 1962, crafting objects that defined California modernism. Working in the shadow of LAX airport, with jets constantly screaming overhead, Curry absorbed the electric energy of aerospace innovation. His bold, sculptural designs—particularly the iconic Honeycomb shelving and revolutionary Stemlite lamp—captured the era's technological optimism through crisp lines and fluid forms, creating objects that whispered of tomorrow while remaining elegantly functional today.
