Is Fern tested for everyday use?
Inside our test lab at our Michigan headquarters, we use force and simulation to replicate daily wear and tear. For example, using 100 lbs. of force, we test the reclining mechanism for a total of 100,000 reps. Each armrest undergoes 90 lbs. of force for 60,000 cycles of in, out, and back again. Set for the highest and lowest heights of the chair, the swivel test serves up 120,000 reps. And on smooth and textured surfaces, we repeat a caster-rolling test 100,000 times.
